check your real pump.fun PnL.
Your SOL balance going up or down tells you almost nothing about how you trade. Deposits, withdrawals, rent and airdrops all move it. Real PnL means matching every sell to what you paid for those exact tokens.
why your balance lies.
- Deposits and withdrawals. Moving SOL in from an exchange looks like profit. It isn't.
- Token account rent. Every new token you buy locks about 0.002 SOL as a refundable deposit. Buy fifty coins and 0.1 SOL looks "lost" until you close the accounts.
- Fees and Jito tips. Priority fees and tips are real costs on every trade. Fast bots can spend more on tips than they make.
- Airdropped and transferred tokens. Selling a token someone sent you looks like a winning trade, but you never paid for it.
how real PnL is worked out.
- Read every swap the wallet made, on any launchpad or bot: SOL out and tokens in is a buy; tokens out and SOL in is a sell.
- Count fees and tips as cost. Take refundable rent out of both sides.
- Match each sell to the oldest unsold tokens first (first in, first out). The difference between what you got and what those tokens cost is realized PnL.
- Leave tokens that arrived for free out of it.
Real example from a random pump.fun wallet, last 300 transactions: 182 trades across 33 tokens, realized +0.65 SOL, a 23% win rate and a median hold of 21 seconds. Its balance chart would have told you none of that.
what to look at after PnL.
PnL says whether you are winning. The useful part is why: which hold times, position sizes and hours make you money and which ones bleed it. That is what turns a number into a rule you can follow next session.
